What a fantastic opportunity to explore Birmingham and the Black Country!
At this year's congress, we went back to Uni. We had an exclusive invitation to the University of Birmingham with interesting speeches giving a wealth of information on the past and present of the wider Birmingham area.
Continuing on this topic, we went for an excursion to the Black Country Living Museum: A fully functioning 50s fun fair was waiting for us, we visited film sets from the original 'Peaky Blinders' series, shared national specialties brought by our members, and concluded this wonderful evening with a roaring dance party that took us right back into the 50s!.
On Saturday morning, we were in for another treat. Renowned speaker Harriet Beveridge shared insights about change and opportunities with her engaging speech about "Will it make the boat go faster?"
The congresss concluded with a gala dinner at the impressive Birmingham City Banqueting Suite.
Beyond the conference, we experienced a city that's redefining itself, offering a perfect backdrop for us forward-thinking legal minds. Birmingham is not just a venue, it's defiinitely an experience – lovely people, exciting architecture, streets bustling with life, and (believe it or not) sunny weather!
