New president for France sets out the roadmap to the future

Benjamin English is the new president of Eurojuris France.  He was elected at the country’s Congress held in January at Cannes and succeeds Thierry Voitellier.

Paying tribute to his predecessors, he launched his presidency by announcing a series of initiatives, which he hopes will be boosted by a post-COVID recovery in France.

He explained:  “This crisis has changed our working habits, those of our clients and the aspirations of our teams. The network has not escaped either, but the story of Eurojuris is about evolving with the times, made easier by a community of shared values.”

Stronger internal communication

The first essential element of the roadmap outlined by Benjamin is designed to reinforce the sense of belonging, so that every individual at every member firm knows they are part of Eurojuris – whether partner, associate, clerk, lawyer or assistant.  By encouraging access to information, getting to know other members and what they do, this first pillar will encourage individuals to work together, whether on a commission, a project, a common client, or a case involving multiple skills.

Raise awareness to attract talent

The second pillar is to demonstrate the ability of Eurojuris to aggregate talent, to attract those who know how to stand out, whether they are young innovative colleagues, student lawyers, or legal entrepreneurs. Eurojuris must be at the heart of the future ecosystem, and not only that of the law, but also that of clients.

Exploiting the strength of community

Finally, Benjamin emphasised that becoming the network of tomorrow will be supported by Eurojuris members coming together to raise visibility, in ways not achievable individually, both in terms of marketing and awareness, to benefit both their firms and the network itself.

He said: “Faced with the changes in our profession ranging from the creation of new structures, to hybrid practices, fragmentation of legal services and hyper-specialisation, we need, more than ever, to be stronger together. ”

Benjamin English was sworn in and joined the Avril & Marion team in 2008. He is now co-managing partner of the firm, and for three years was vice president of Eurojuris France. His role in charge of communication and forecasting has positioned him as one of the most recognised specialists in the digital transformation of the legal profession.

His professional practice is focused mainly on advising on day-to-day issues of commercial law, professional liability, business and competition law, debt collection, collective proceedings, and criminal business law. His experience in litigation and crisis management enables him to advise his clients on risk management, negotiation and drafting of business contracts, and he also acts as an online arbitrator.
