For those of you who missed the Jurismus International Meeting in Hull last June, we have the pleasure of introducing you to Robert Buchmann, lawyer based in beautiful Munich and specialised in Finance & Banking.
First of all, tell us about your firm.
“Rössner Rechtsanwälte is a-35 year-old legal practice specialised in Banking & Capital Markets Law. We analyse financial products and represent predominantly companies and private individuals as well as local authorities and municipal utility companies in cases of -negligent advice through banks, financial institutions and asset managers. We examine the forms of financing and advise local authorities on alternative financing models.
In addition to settling claims, Rössner lawyers call for more transparency on the financial markets. In this way we actively support the protection of clients’ assets. By focussing solely on the aggrieved parties, we are able to exclude any conflict of interests.
Our certified law firm has offices in Munich and Berlin. Rössner lawyers have been members of Eurojuris Deutschland for 18 years”.
Why did you become a lawyer ?
“Well, it’s an interesting question. I don’t come from a family of lawyers at all. When I started college, it wasn’t an obvious choice for me at first. What peaked my interested was the versatility of the profession, the pleasant aspects of collaborative work and the great potential it was offering me. Once I got acquainted with the subjects of my curriculum, I really started enjoying the practicality law offers and I got hooked”.
You were elected President of Jurismus a few months ago. What will be the fingerprint of your leadership ?
“Jurismus is a very dynamic network with great reputation giving real opportunities to get International clients and exposure to interesting cases. It is also a very effective way to get reliable information quickly given the wide variety of specialised lawyers members of our group.”
Robert adds : “As a President, I hope to bring the network to the next level. There are so many talents within this community, I hope I will humbly contribute to its strength, reputation and enhance its International reach.

Are you one of these lawyers living at the office or do you manage to have a good work/life balance ?
“I surely work hard but I am a family man who enjoys spending quality time with my wife and 2 young sons. Sports is also one of my passion, I have been a triathlete for the past 15 years and am a member of a rowing club in Munich”
